Organizing Calypso Program Files

  1. Decide on a folder location for your CMM programs, preferably on a network drive.
  1. Organize programs in a logical folder structure. One possible approach would be something like: Quality/CMM/Programs/[Customer Name]/[Part Number]/[Measurement Plans here]
    1. For example: Quality/CMM/Programs/Honeywell/7005643/7005643 Rev3 Side 1

(Sometimes you will have more than one program for a single part number, so the program(s) will be saved in the Part Number folder.)

The Quality/CMM/Results folder is where you could store Calypso results files.

  1. Create an “_Archive” folder inside the “CMM Programs” folder. (The underscore will keep the folder at the top of the list.)
  1. Move any “Measurement Plan” folders to the “_Archive” folder that have non-descriptive or obviously temporary names. For example:
  • Measurement Plan3
  • temp
  • delete
  • bob’s program
  • test
  • asdfklj
  • OD check
  • 123
💡
It is best to never delete a file unless you are absolutely sure you will never need it again! Otherwise, move it to an Archive folder just in case.
  1. Move other existing programs to the new folder structure that you set up in the previous steps.
  1. If there are multiple versions of programs for the same part number, add an “Archive” folder inside the part number folder. Move all old-revision programs there.
